According to the experts at rug company Ruggable, searches for ‘home trends’ are up +227% worldwide in the last month. With fall swiftly approaching, the company said more people seem to be seeking inspiration for their next seasonal home update.
Claudia Kampmann, Europe Brand Manager at Ruggable, is offering 5 home décor trends for the season:
Serene colors that emulate nature

“Calming palettes of sage, teal, and cream are timeless classics that seem to dominate trend forecasts year after year. We’ve also seen this reflected in our own shopper insights, with searches for ‘blues’ and ‘teals’ significantly jumping in the past 2 months,” said Kampmann. “While shoppers continue to gravitate toward these lighter shades, with the right styling, you can still easily create a warm and inviting autumnal feel in your home.”
“To achieve this look in your dining area, when choosing your tablecloth, opt for cream or warm beige, then pair it with sage or teal tablemats to add contrast while keeping the look cohesive,” she added. “Don’t be afraid to add decorative accents like handmade ceramics or autumnal foliage like dried eucalyptus, pampas grass, or autumn leaves to create a stunning focal point for your table. As we move further into fall and approach the spooky season, you can refresh the look by incorporating wooden trays filled with decorated mini pumpkins for some festive fun.”
As well as color, incorporating patterns into interiors is a great way to update and refresh your space, Kampmann said. According to Pinterest’s 2025 Fall Trend Report, searches for art deco interiors are up +745%, suggesting it’s only a matter of time before bold, statement-making designs become a staple in our interiors.
Stripe it up +213% Google searches

“An iconic motif in art deco design, stripes are not only versatile but can work in every room. Think decorative accents like table lamps, decorative pillows, or even swapping your existing rug for a striped one. Rugs are a simple way to add both texture and style to a space,” said Kampmann. “Some patterns might be overwhelming for some, but stripes can be soft and subtle. For a more on-trend approach, opt for stripes in calming shades like sage and teal to create a neutral yet playful aesthetic.”
Get creative with geometrics +194% Google searches

“Another trend set to take center stage this Autumn is geometrics. This refers to designs that use shapes like triangles, squares, hexagons, and other repeating patterns and will certainly add visual interest to your space,” Kampmann said. “Robert Downey Jr. was ahead of the trend earlier this year, sharing how he used a geometric decorating technique to improve his room’s traffic flow in his Malibu home. Geometric patterns work well on natural textures like wood and re-jute, as the neutral base allows the pattern to pop whilst still creating a harmonious and balanced look.”
Animal prints back like they never left +5000% Google searches

“Animal motifs have made a name for themselves in the world of interiors and can feel like a bold move, but there are countless ways to style them tastefully in both minimal and maximal homes,” she added. “Think leopard or jungle cat prints, palm leaves, or snake patterns in wall art or a throw to instantly add personality and fun to your space. They’re a great way to warm up a minimalist interior and can even be incorporated into the bedroom through patterned bed sheets or pillows.
Check mate your interiors +5000% Google searches

“Commonly used in traditional homes, checks are changing their history, and we’re increasingly seeing bold colorways and combinations embraced in contemporary interiors,” Kampmann added. “This timeless design is super versatile and even works well with other patterns. If you plan on styling another pattern with your checks, keep the space from feeling too busy by pairing them with patterns of a similar scale and tone, like stripes. Using checks with three tones of the same color also gives you more versatility, enabling them to be brought into a range of different interior styles really easily.”
